Cuisinart DLC-10S Pro Classic 7-Cup Food Processor

Have a look at what Scott Trulock has to say about this Cuisinart 7 cup food processor:

For the size and the money, this is one of the better buys if you are looking for time- and effort-saving device for gourmets.

This food processor can replace many other tools in the well-equipped chef’s kitchen: Mandoline, Pastry Knives, Potato Masher, to name a few.

Since I began using the Cuisinart, I have been able to make well-mixed doughs for perfect pastries and breads, julienned veggies (with a separate julienne blade) for crudites, superb mashed potatoes and potatoes au gratin, as well as many other dishes with a minimum of effort.

The only flaw of the Cuisinart line is the feed tube. While the multiple size feed slots make it easy to push anything from full-size potatoes to drizzling oil to make mayonnaise, it can be a major challenge to clean due to the multiple crevices in the feed pusher.

Overall, however, the Cuisinart can make short work of the most complicated culinary endeavors, with a versatility to match a whole counter full of manual tools.

Cuisinart DLC-5BK 7-Cup Capacity Food Processor

People do not seem to like this Cuisinart 7 cup food processor as much as the previous one. It still gets pretty good reviews and may with time I will be proved wrong!

From the 90 reviews 62 people gives it five stars and only 3 people gives it one star. Still pretty good, don’t you think?

Here are the most important feature of this Cuisinart DLC-5BK 7-Cup Capacity Food Processor:

  • 7-cup work bowl, ideal size for most households
  • Slicing and shredding discs, spatula, recipe booklet included
  • Kneads 1-1/2 pounds of dough, chops 1 pound of meat
  • Dishwasher-safe parts
  • 5-year warranty against motor defects, 3-year warranty against other defects

Have a look at what Robin Currier has to say about this machine:

Perhaps you are thinking, “Do I really need a food processor?” The answer is, “Yes!”

Twenty years ago I bought the same model as this one and it has seen daily use and is still running strong! I thought I wouldn’t really use it that much, but once you start using it you find that it makes food preparation so much quicker that soon you can’t do without it! Not only is it great for slicing and chopping, but it is also great for preparing bread dough (no more hand kneading!), pureeing, and making peanut butter.

The only time I use a blender instead of the food processor is when I’m pureeing a large amount of liquid (like a hot soup), because it will leak out of the food processor.

Because of the food processor, I find that I make lots of recipes that I formerly wouldn’t have because they used to take too much time.

Caution: The blades are razor SHARP! The first week I had my processor, I pulled bread dough off the blade without being very careful, and sliced off the top of my thumb! After 20 years, the blades are still very sharp. The work bowl is a bit scratched and dull, but after 20 years it’s a miracle that it’s still in one piece!

For my small family, the 7-cup capacity is just right. If I had a larger family, I might invest in one of the larger processors.

Cuisinart DLC-2007N Prep 7 7-Cup Food Processor

This Cuisinart 7 Cup Food Processor does not have that many reviews, yet, but most like it. From the 21 reviews 10 gave it five starts and only 1 person gave it only a one star, so I think you are pretty safe!

Have a look at what one customer has to say:

We chose this model because we don’t want to move really heavy appliances around on the countertop, but the mini-choppers are too small for our recipes.

The 2007 weighs about 13 pounds and uses the same wattage motor and most of the same disks as the 11-cup model in this line, although it lacks the extra slow-speed control button for dough processing, and it uses the old-style plastic dough blade. (In this size, it’s probably a pie-crust dough maker, not a bread dough maker, anyway.) It’s the biggest motor we found on a food processor this size.

Good stuff:

  • Easy wipe-clean base–no crevices to catch food. Hurray!
  • Stable and relatively quiet during use.
  • Easy top-rack dishwasher clean-up (power-saver no-heat drying)
  • Easy to add small (or liquid) ingredients during processing. Small inner pusher piece is removable, giving access to a small feed tube. There’s also a drip hole for liquids in the bottom of the small pusher piece.

Not so good stuff:

  • Very fiddly mechanism for locking down the workbowl before processing.
  • The large outer pusher piece, that goes into the main feed tube, has a metal rod that pushes down another rod on the lid, that pushes down another rod on the bowl, that finally pushes a control on the base.
  • If you have to remove the large pusher to add more big stuff to the bowl, the mechanism stops. Probably just as well, since a child’s hand could easily fit through the large main feed tube.

Cuisinart DLC5BC Food Processor, 7-Cup Chrome

Cuisinart DLC5BC Food Processor, 7-Cup Chrome

This Cuisinart 7 Cup Food Processor has only 6 reviews making it difficult to judge. Of the six people 4 gave it 5 starts and the worst rating is one 1 star.

The description on the Amazon site is not too good. Most customers love their machines though so I think the Cuisinart DLC5BC Food Processor 7-Cup Chrome, is a pretty good food processor.

Have a look at what “VB” has to say: (You do know you can go into the person’s profile on Amazon?)

Best product for the price.

The food processor was very easy to use as well as easy to clean up! We feel like we made a great purchase.

Pros: Very strong 600 watt electric motor, Easy to use, Durable.

Cons: May not be large enough for family cooking

There is one thing that Matthew Anderson warns you of though and I think it is important that you take that into account:

The food processor works wonderful and does everything it is supposed to do. However, it isn’t ‘chrome’ like the description says it is. There is an actual chrome version but it is not this model – it is the larger model. This one is just plastic, painted a gray color to look like chrome. A little disappointing

I must admit that I have an old Hamilton Beach one that is also only painted and I’m quite happy with it. So, if I were looking for a new machine, this would not have bothered me!

Cuisinart DFP-7BC 7 Cup Food Processor

This Cuisinart 7 cup food processor has only 13 reviews and the 3 people that gives it only one star makes me a little weary!

Here are the most important product features:

  • Stainless-steel blade for chopping; two discs for slicing and shredding
  • Plastic blade kneads 2 pounds of dough in less than 2 minutes
  • Pulse button; large feed tube with pushers
  • Dishwasher-safe parts; full 5-year warranty on motor

I think it is really worth the trouble reading the Amazon review as I find them objective most of the time and they seem to like this food processor.

Another thing is that I find that the people who give it good reviews really LOVE their machine, so you will have to decide.

Have a look at what Stephan M. Lawson has to say about it:

We had one of these babies in my apartment at college and we used it for everything. Put any good food into the cuisinart and it comes out even better than before. Imagine, chipped roast beef sandwiches, fruit smoothies, home made salsa, hummis, just about anything. If the Cuisinart could withstand college apartment use, it can withstand anything!! Wow, Cuisinart is the God of the kitchen!!
